The Virtual Art Gallery
An Interactive 3D Space for Showcasing Digital Artwork
The Virtual Art Gallery is an immersive 3D environment designed to showcase digital artwork in a realistic exhibition setting. Built using Unity, the gallery allows users to walk through curated rooms, interact with art pieces, and experience a museum-like atmosphere from their browser or VR headset. Each piece in the gallery is displayed with metadata, artist details, and optional audio narration, simulating a real-world exhibition experience.
The project features a modular interior layout, dynamic lighting, and optimized asset loading for smooth performance. Custom navigation controls allow users to freely explore the space or follow guided tours. Artwork is presented as high-resolution image textures mapped onto 3D frames, making the gallery suitable for showcasing traditional digital paintings, NFTs, and even motion graphics.
From a technical perspective, the environment was modeled in Blender and imported into Unity for interactivity. The UI was built using Unity’s Canvas system, and WebGL export enables deployment to any modern browser. For VR compatibility, the app uses Unity XR Toolkit. This project demonstrates how 3D design and interactive tech can elevate the way digital art is experienced online.
